Xolo, Sub-Brand Black Teases It’s First Smartphone

Xolo, the subsidiary of Lava International, has teased  the first phone for its sub-brand Black ahead of its launch. The video particularly focused on the new features of XOLO Black phone of being stain and smudge-free, possibly an anti-smudge coating. Xolo Black’s outlook design seems to be inspired from iPhone 6 series. The curved corners and smooth edges around the phone are uncanny. Revealing a twin camera setup with an LED flash in the centre, the Black showcased with a slim profile, and glass panel on its back.

Unlike all other Smartphone camera that comes with a depth sensing support, just like in case of HTC One (M8), with this you can use your smartphone’s camera to find in-depth feel of the dimensions. You can even refocus pictures after they are clicked. It is pegged to support 4G LTE and runs on the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with proprietary new Hive 1.5 UI out-of-the-box. .

The company claims to have optimized the battery and processor performance as well. The new smart phone that comes with an SIM-card tray on the left will be priced under Rs.15000.Unlike Xiaomi and Yu, Xolo won’t have flash sales for its Black smartphones. Xolo looks to drive significant chunk of revenue from online sales, and will launch a new handset every quarter under sub-brand Black. The phones will be priced between Rs.10000 – Rs.20000 and all of them would be 4G enabled.

Xolo has taken a leaf out of business models from its accomplished rivals like Micromax, Xiaomi and Lenovo, to retail all future Black series smartphones via e-commerce site only. Although in the domestic smartphone market, Xolo has some competitive Android powered smartphones is all its range, but since it’s not that much hyped in Indian market, as Micromax and Intex grabbing the stage with their definitely upgraded versions of smartphones. To compete with such high-end and affordable range, Xolo is said to bring a rival to those competitors in the market. Flipkart will be exclusive retailer to sell Xolo Black series phones.

Expected specs include 2GB ram, Snapdragon 615 processor, Dual rear camera of 13mp, 5mp front camera, 16 GB ROM with Micro SD card slot expandable up to 32 GB, 3000mah battery with full HD OGS display. Official sources confirmed the launch date of Xolo Black as July 2.
